Francis Su

Francis Su is the Benediktsson-Karwa Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University, and his research is in geometric combinatorics and applications to the social sciences. From the Mathematical Association of America, he received the 2018 Halmos-Ford award for mathematical writing, and the 2013 Haimo Award for distinguished teaching of college-level mathematics. His book Mathematics for Human Flourishing (2020) is a meditation on what it means to be human, and can be viewed as a broad argument for mathematics as a liberal art.
